There is no hope for Justin Bieber, it looks. Even when the troubled singer tries to play nice, he gets a piece of Internet backlash.
The Biebs was in Amsterdam on Friday as part of his "Belieber" tour, and decided to kill a few hours visiting holocaust symbol and memory museum The Anne Frank House, where a family of German Jews hid during the Nazi years. He took some of his entourage, strolled around the house and when he left, he wrote a note in their guestbook - you know, as any other visitor would.
"Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber," read his message. The museum posted the message on its Facebook page, and all online hell broke loose.
"She would have been a WHAT? That little idiot is too full of himself," wrote a Facebook fan of The Anne Frank House.
"Glad he went, but the last sentence is very self serving. He missed the lessons of Anne totally," wrote another.
"Can anyone be more self-obsessed?" read a comment on CNN.com.
But despite the controversy, the museum expressed their gratitude for the Canadian singer's visit. "The Anne Frank House was pleased to welcome Justin Bieber to the Anne Frank House last Friday," and official Facebook post said Monday.
"We think it is very positive that he took the time and effort to visit our museum. He was very interested in the story of Anne Frank and stayed for over an hour. We hope that his visit will inspire his fans to learn more about her life and hopefully read the diary."
Bieber, on the middle of his European tour, stopped by the house on Friday between his concert in Antwerp, Belgium, and a Saturday night gig in Arnhem, Netherlands. He twitted to his fans that it was a "chill day."
