Katie Holmes Strips Down For Allure; Is She Giving Up Acting?

Katie Holmes has come a long way from her days as Joey Potter in the '90s classic "Dawson's Creek." The former girl-next-door has grown into a full-on sensual woman and that is only on the outside.

The actress posed topless for the cover of the April isse for Allure with a sultry new look, smoky eyes and wet hair.

Holmes would not discuss her split from Tom Cruise, but she did say that she hopes this year is "peaceful and good for everyone."

Holmes has been living in New York City with her 6-year-old daughter Suri since the divorce from Cruise, who she left amid a media-frenzy after a five-year marriage. To the question of if she's thinking of giving little Suri a sibling, Holmes replied that she "doesn't know" but is "open to it.

But the biggest surprise was when the TV darling revealed that she is having second thoughts about acting.

"My brother and father are attorneys, so we'll see. I like the practical thinking of attorneys."

Is this change of heart due to her canceled Broadway show? After a little time away from work to concentrate on Suri, Holmes was ready to come back with a bang: with a role on a Broadway play "Dead Accounts." Faced with mixed reviews and lukewarm success, the show was canceled before its first season was done. Holmes said that despite that, she has no regrets.

"I was open to whoever wanted me. It was always my goal to make back to the stage."
