The man who shot and killed two people in a Kentucky church over the weekend was set to attend a domestic violence hearing scheduled for the day after he committed the murders, authorities report.

47-year-old Guy House went on a crime rampage on Sunday, first shooting and injuring a State Trooper who tried to pull him over on Sunday morning near Blue Grass Airport. He then proceeded to steal a different vehicle, then traveling to Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington in search of his ex who is also the mother of his children.

Unable to locate the woman he had been looking for, House shot her mother, 72-year-old Beverly Gumm, and her sister, 32-year-old Christina Combs, who had been present at the church, killing them. He also shot and injured Gumm's husband, Jerry Gumm, and Comb's husband, Randy Combs.

Police arrived at the church and shot House, killing him.

"Guy House wanted to hurt my sister or someone she loved," said Star Rutherford, one of Gumm's daughters.

Another one of Gumm's daughters, Rachael Barnes, revealed that House's domestic violence hearing which had been scheduled for Monday morning was unrelated to her sister.

"With the assistance of the department's Air Support Unit and Real-Time Intelligence Center, officers were able to track the vehicle to the Richmond Road Baptist Church in the 5800 of Old Richmond Road. The suspect fired his weapon at individuals on church property. Preliminary information indicates that the suspect may have had a connection to individuals at the church," the Lexington Police Department said in a statement to Newsweek.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear also took to social media to comment on the incident.

"Violence like this has no place in our commonwealth or country. Please join Britainy and me as we pray for the families of those lost, each one a child of God gone too soon," he wrote.
