Kourtney Kardashian has a few questions about “hate sex.” The reality TV star got an expert to explain how it is possible to have “best sex” even though it is with people who one doesn’t like.
Kardashian has been talking about various health and diet issues on her Poosh blog, and she has also sought the help of experts to share some insights about some issues. In a more recent blog post, the reality TV star got sexologist and sex and relationship therapist Shamyra Howard to talk about “hate sex.”
People have sex because it is pleasurable. Sometimes people do it with someone they don’t like or love, or even consider to be unpleasant. This is described as “hate sex,’ and apparently, it can be the “best sex” a person has ever had.
Why is hate sex so pleasurable? According to Howard, sex has nothing to do with love and more to do with the body’s “sexual response cycle.” The human brain does not differentiate between people who are in love and people who hate each other. “Sex is sex,” the therapist explained.
Women might be more interested in having sex at the beginning of their cycle or right before their period begins. This happens because women get a rise in estrogen levels during this time.
While it is normal for some women to call a person they hate when their estrogen levels are high to get their “fix,” there is one concern that Howard warns people to be careful about. If a person is only attracted to people who are unavailable, this is not biology. These people may be having emotional attachment issues that they need to talk to a therapist about.
If there are no emotional issues involved, Howard said that people need not get confused about when they tend to have sex with the person they don’t really like. Having hate sex is “really common.”
