LG today officially unveiled its follow-up to last year's successful and impressive G2 smartphone, the LG G3. While the G3 shares some similar features with last year's device, this new model has some incredible upgrades. Check out some of these upgrades and new features below:

1. On the front end of the device, the G3 features a 5.5-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD display, with high pixel density of 538ppi. The G3 features a slim bezels around all sides of the screen, making the smartphones large display easier to handle. LG also updated the devices camera to 13MP featuring advanced optical image stabilization, Laser Auto Focus and dual LED flash. For those that like selfies the front-facing camera utilizes a 2.1MP camera, which lets users clinch their fist to start a countdown timer.

2. Under the hood, the LG G3 features a quad-core 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB or 3GB of RAM, and 16GB or 32GB of storage with microSD card support. This device also features a removable rear case which allows users to swap out the included 3,000mAh battery. Lastly, the G3 utilizes a 1 watt speaker with a boost amp for improved sound.

3. The LG G3 features a new and improved UI with flatter designs. The company's Knock Code has returned, which allows users to unlock their device with a customizable pattern of on-screen-taps. It was also announced that the G3 can learn from the user with Smart Notice. This feature gives you hints and reminders based on your current activity. Think of Google Now. Lastly, there is a new feature called QuickCircle which allows users to take photos, play music, and make calls without opening the cover of your smartphone. Check out the feature below:

4. The LG G3 will be offered in Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet, and Burgundy Red. Check out the colors below:

The device will initially be available in South Korea starting tomorrow, May 28. The global launch is planned after the initial release but doesn't have a specific date. Pricing has also yet to be revealed.
