Most people around the world are now getting vaccinated to help fend off COVID-19, something that will hopefully check the rising numbers of coronavirus cases. However, it would be best to note that even if one gets vaccinated, they still need to be careful and observe health protocols – including wearing masks.

Melano Rosen, a woman from Long Island who works as a secretary in the Hewlett-Woodmere school, got her second dose of Modern a month ago. But like most, she thought that getting the COVID-19 shot meant she could resume the normal way of life. She attended a wake without a mask to console the family of her friend whose father passed away.

However, there were reportedly some people at the wake who were also not wearing masks at the wake whom she hugged. It was not mentioned if any of them had gotten their COVID-19 shots. Rosen ended up experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 that included a stuffy nose and body aches. It would, later on, be discovered that three of the family members present at the wake had tested positive for COVID-19.

It should be noted that none of the vaccines approved for use are not 100% protected from the virus. All it does is help safeguard people from serious cases which is seen as a big step towards possibly seeing the world get back to normal life.

The case of Rosen is considered rare considering she is coming off inoculation. Experts brand it as a rare case although it hints that people should not let their guard down and relax from the recommended health protocols. That includes wearing a mask even if one is vaccinated.

Rosen has fully recovered from that mild COVID-19 episode which thankfully did not get worse. But it is clear that the virus is still out there and people can still get it if they are not careful.

“You can still get it; you can probably still spread it,” Rosen said. “I want people to know it’s not over.”

The death is the first COVID-19 fatality for Victoria in many weeks and also comes as 20 new coronavirus cases were confirmed today.
