A male security guard at a Boston hotel was suspended after he allegedly entered a women's restroom over the weekend and confronting a woman, demanding she provide proof that she was assigned female at birth.

The incident occurred during a Kentucky Derby party at The Liberty Hotel on Saturday. Liz Victor was waiting for her girlfriend, Ansley Baker, to use the restroom when the security guard entered and began pounding his fist on the bathroom stall door.

"I pulled my shorts up. I hadn't even tied them. One of the security guards was there telling me to get out of the bathroom, that I was a man in the women's bathroom. I said, 'I'm a woman,'" Baker told CBS News.

Baker, who was born a woman and identifies as one, told CBS that as she was escorted out of the restroom, other women made comments and referred to her as a man.

"Someone said, 'Get him out of here,' referring to me. 'He's a creep,' also referring to me," Baker shared.

The guard then asked to see both women's IDs before escorting them out of the hotel following a heated confrontation.

On Tuesday, The Liberty Hotel said in a statement that the security guard had been suspended following an investigation. In addition to retraining staff "on inclusive practices and guest interaction protocols," the hotel also donated to a local LGBTQ+ organization.
