Man Charged With Sexual Abuse Of A Child After Admitting To Having Sex With Minor '50 To 100 Times'

A man has been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child after he reportedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with an underage victim some "50 to 100 times" in San Antonio, Texas.

Kevin Jose Lira, 20, is accused of consistently sexually abusing an unnamed sixteen-year-old girl over the span of four years. Lira reportedly knew the victim was underage and that, over the last four years, he has had sexual intercourse with the victim "50 to 100 times,” CBS Austin reported.

Officers responded to a house located in the 7880 block of Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio, Texas on July 13 after receiving reports of an underage girl trying to harm herself by cutting her wrists. After law enforcement arrived, the underage victim told the officers that she cut her wrist because she was upset that Lira was going to leave her.

Lira and the victim allegedly had been dating each other for about four years despite the girl being a minor. According to a police report, after being questioned by officers, Lira admitted that he knew the victim was underage when he initiated the intimate relationship. Lira added that the last time he had sex with the victim was “one week ago,” News 4 San Antonio reported.

The man has been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child and a warrant has been made for his arrest. Meanwhile, Lira's next hearing is set for Aug. 3.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a 42-year-old man has been arrested on Friday, March 4, for allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulting his 13-year-old daughter for four months in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, Latin Times reported.

The 42-year-old suspect, who already had six prior cases against him, including murder, had been living alone with his 13-year-old daughter after his wife left him sometime last year. However, during his stay with his underage daughter, he allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulted her and forced himself onto her multiple times over a period of one year.

When the officers questioned the minor victim regarding the assault, she told them that her father had been raping her for the past four months and sexually abusing her for the past year. The girl also told the authorities that her father used to tell her that she should live with him like a wife.
