Man Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Murdering Girlfriend In Car, Bringing Her Body To Police Station

An Asian man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his girlfriend in his car and then bringing her dead body to a police station in Dubai.

The accused reportedly entered a police station in Dubai in July 2019 while being visibly frightened and wearing clothes stained with blood. He proceeded to admit to the officer on duty that he had killed his girlfriend and that her body was inside his vehicle in the station’s parking lot.

When the police went to check the man's car, they found the victim seated inside the car with a slit neck and several stab wounds all over her body, Khaleej Times reported. The officers also found a large knife that was used to commit the crime in the back seat of the vehicle.

"Sir, I killed my girlfriend," the man reportedly confessed when he was interrogated by the authorities.

During questioning, the accused told the officers that he had been in a romantic relationship with the victim for the past five years. However, he recently discovered that she was also in a relationship with another man, the Filipino Times reported.

On the day of the incident, the accused reportedly drove to a parking lot near the victim's house and asked her to come to meet him. He had brought a knife with him and had kept it in his vehicle.

When the victim entered the car, the accused talked to her about returning to her home country. During the conversation, the man reportedly told her that he was in love with her and wanted to marry her. However, the victim refused his proposal and told him that her family did not want her to marry him.

In a fit of rage, he pulled out the knife and then stabbed her in the neck and several times in other parts of her body. After killing the woman, he placed the knife in the back seat of the car, drove to a police station, and surrendered himself to the authorities.

During the court session, the accused admitted to stabbing the victim and confessed his premeditated intention to kill her. Based on this, the Dubai Criminal Court convicted him and slapped him with a life sentence.
