Disney+ is live. Among the massive lineup of spinoffs and reboots, the most hyped show of Disney+ is the original series “The Mandalorian,” which debuted today. Set in the “Star Wars” universe, the show will star "Narcos" star Pedro Pascal as the cryptic Mandalorian.

Oddly enough, there were neither any previews nor early reviews for the show. This left the critics wondering why they were not getting any advance screenings of the show. What was the big final reveal that Disney was keeping under the wraps?

Unlike the other shows, there were limited screenings of “The Mandalorian.” The screenings were reportedly organized for fan clubs and without any screeners for the media outlets. The reason is that Disney was trying to avoid the potential spoilers for the show, reported Forbes. Therefore they adopted the same strategy as HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” and avoided sending the show screeners to the critics.

“The Mandolorian” takes up a bounty job from Werner Herzog, and takes on a base of baddies. After destroying everyone with his minigun, the Mandalorian finds out that his “50-year-old, dead or alive” target is none other than a Baby Yoda.

Since “The Mandalorian” is set after the events of “Return of the Jedi,” this is possibly a brand new character of Yoda’s species. This is indeed a momentous development for the Star Wars Universe. The Yoda’s species are such rare and dynamic users of the Force that the “Star Wars” fans can’t keep calm.

However, at this point, it is hard to predict who sent the Mandalorian after Baby Yoda. Will the Imperials order to kill him or will any Imperial-aligned scientist raise it to be on the dark side?

It is beyond doubt that the all-new Baby Yoda character will form the crux of the plot for the first season of “The Mandalorian.” No wonder, why Disney decided to keep the details under wraps, before the airing the initial episodes of the show.
