María Pineda had been battling with cancer for six years and lost her fight on April 4. The Spanish model was prepping for her wedding day to arquitect Emilio Molina. The celebration was to take place on April 8, a celebration that was overshadowed by the beauty's death. "Loving her was very difficult," Molina told a Spanish outlet. "She was always so positive that we always gave our backs to cancer. It was like if the disease didn't exist. Every 21 days we would go to chemotherapy." Molina also added that he made her happy until the last minute of her life and with the hope of walking down the aisle, Pineda still had a lot to live for.
A year ago she opened up about her struggle with pulmonary cancer. "My cancer is proper to Asian women and not smokers, but I was the chosen one," she said. The worst thing about it is that it can't be treated, it's like a spider web. The only cure is chemotherapy for the rest of my life to keep it under control. In my case, I have it thanks to genetics. In my family there are a lot of cancer cases. My parents died this way as well as my mother's seven siblings. Health has not treated my people very well." Pineda had been away from the limelight and was accompanied by her partner and close friends at the time of her death in Málaga. María Pineda will rest at the Cementerio De Málaga. May she rest in peace.
