DOGE Chair Greene Announces Hearing on USA Fencing Allowing Biological Men in Women's Events

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene praised Democratic counterpart Nancy Pelosi, who announced on Thursday she won't seek reelection in next year's midterms.

Speaking on CNN, Greene said "I will praise Nancy Pelosi." "She had an incredible career for her party. I served under her speakership in my first term in Congress and I'm very impressed at her ability to get things done. I wish we could get things done for our party like Nancy Pelosi was able to deliver for her party," she added.

Pelosi, who was the first woman to serve as Speaker of the House, said she won't be seeking reelection in a video message to San Francisco voters. "With a grateful heart, I look forward to my final year of service as your proud representative," she said during a passage of the video. She was the leader of the Democratic Party in the Lower House between 2002 and 2022. She stepped down from her post three years ago, with colleagues granting her the title of "speaker emerita."

Greene has been slamming Republicans for not advancing an agenda and over what she sees as inaction during the government shutdown. She also lobbed criticism after he party's defeats in New York City, New Jersey, Cincinnati and Virginia, saying "politics is no different than business. Business 101: If you don't deliver what you promise, then don't expect return customers."

In October she claimed Republicans don't have plans for health care and should be working on addressing the issue: "When it comes to the point where families are spending anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000 a month and looking at hikes coming on their insurance premiums, I think that's unforgivable," she said.

House Speaker Mike Johnson rejected the claim, saying the lawmaker does not serve on committees that deal with health care "and she's probably not read in on some of that."

Other Republicans have escalated their criticism. Politico detailed in a report that Republicans believe her dissent could fracture the party's efforts to pressure Democrats into accepting their demands to fund the government.

In this context, Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed that Greene's criticism is on a "revenge tour" against her party after President Donald Trump blocked her ambitions of running for the Senate in Georgia. Greene rejected the allegation.
