Irrefutably, the Duchess of Sussex is controversy’s favorite child. This time around, she found herself to be in the eye of the storm for her explosive private letter to father Thomas Markle.

While Prince Harry and Meghan are distraught by the state of affairs and have sought legal aid for the leakage of confidential information, Meghan’s letter entails content which can be summed as ‘upsetting, terrifying and deeply unsettling’ to say the least.

Meghan, who shares a rather rough relationship with her estranged father, has apparently caused mammoth disappointment to the 74-year-old owing to the unsavory nature of her handwritten letter, as per Daily Mail.

"This is not the girl I know. It's not the way she talks. This letter is cold. When she signs off it's 'Meg'. You read the way it ends and it felt like a final farewell to me."

Dated August 2018 and written in Meghan's elegant trademark handwriting, the letter mentioned how the duchess heart has been broken by her father's actions.

“Your actions have broken my heart into a million pieces - not simply because you have manufactured such unnecessary and unwarranted pain, but by making the choice to not tell the truth as you are puppeteered in this. Something I will never understand.”

As per the Sun, the explosive letter saw the light of day after a bunch of Meghan's close pals decided to give anonymous interviews to a U.S. magazine bashing Thomas Markle.

Thomas, who has allegedly been indifferent all through Meghan’s marriage to Prince Harry, was also accused of spreading vicious lies about the latter who has always been "nothing but patient, kind and understanding" towards him.

Hinting at how she could see through his intentions, Meghan begs her father to stop his harrowing ways to malign her and her husband’s reputation for the sake of personal gains. Her anguish was deeply reflected in her choice of words, and how tabloids’ portrayal of her was far from the truth.

“Please stop lying, please stop creating so much pain, please stop exploiting my relationship with my husband ... being able to live with a clear conscience is more valuable than any payment in the world.”

Mr Markle, who's apparently 'devastated' by the letter, felt this was a "dagger to his heart."

Unsurprisingly, the gnawing content of the letter made to tabloids and it didn’t take long for things to be blown out of proportion. The royal couple is not taking things lying down, and have reportedly taken stringent legal action against the British tabloid. They are personally funding the litigation and has promised to donate any damages to an anti-bullying charity.
