MIAMI - Mexican singer Peso Pluma is back in the eye of a media storm. Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, his real name, is now accused of leaving a marijuana store without paying. This incident has sparked a new wave of debate over the artist's alleged struggles with addiction, following recent claims of a stint in a rehabilitation center after his breakup with singer Nicki Nicole.

The controversy erupted when journalist Jacqueline Martínez, known in social media as 'Chamonic', shared a video on Instagram, reportedly from a security camera of a marijuana dispensary in the United States. In the footage, Peso Pluma is seen browsing the store with companions and apparently making a purchase.

An allegedly unpaid bill

According to sources, the incident occurred on Sunday, March 3. The store, which has not disclosed its name or location, alleges that while Peso Pluma did select a product, he left the premises without paying. The store later took to social media to disclose that the bill, under the name Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, remained unpaid.

According to Chamonic, La Doble P, as the artist is also known. asked somebody in his entourage to take care of the purchase, but the man also left without even attempting payment.

A very eventful year

Peso Pluma's 2024 has been a rollercoaster, including canceled shows and the tumultuous breakup with Nicki Nicole after a video placed him in Las Vegas in romantic body language towards another woman after the Super Bowl.

Then he decided to withdraw from the International Song Festival of Viña del Mar alleging "personal reasons", thus intensifying public scrutiny over his personal life.

Soon after, a group of photos sparked rumors suggesting that Peso Pluma checked into a rehab facility in Jalisco, although multiple sources later reported that he was dealing with the breakup through music in Los Angeles. However, the recent allegations have reignited concerns about his wellbeing.

Peso Pluma has so far not made any official statements regarding the incident or the speculations about his possible rehabilitation. This silence has only fueled public curiosity and concern about the singer's current state.

The allegations against Peso Pluma have significant implications, not only for his public image but also for the ongoing conversation about celebrity culture and addiction. The singer's journey through personal and professional highs and lows continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
