Mexico’s maestro, Miguel “El Piojo” Herrera, told ESPN FC on Monday that he believes it’s time for Mexico’s star, Javier “Chicharito Hernandez to leave Manchester United.

As we wrote last week during the Guinness International Champions Cup Final, Chicharito was on the hot seat for new United Coach Louis van Gaal. The preseason final was perhaps a final opportunity for the Mexican striker to audition for his new Coach and earn a spot on the team for the upcoming season.

Unfortunately for Chicharito, who struggled last season with Old Trafford, it appears that van Gaal has hinted through the media that he’s not interested in keeping Chicharito and it’s time for him to find a new team.

Nobody knows what Chicharito can do on the pitch better than Mexico’s men’s national team manager Miguel Herrera. Herrera coached Chicharito during the final qualifying stages of the World Cup and in the tournament itself as Mexico made a run into the round of 16. He is currently of the opinion that it’s time for Chicharito to move on from Manchester United and is of the belief that Juventus is the best landing spot for his star striker.

“I think Chicharito needs to leave,” he told ESPN FC through a translator in an exclusive interview. “I think Juventus would be a good option for him. When a coach doesn’t want you –when you have your best experience, your best moment with them, and now the coach that wanted you is no longer there – it’s time to move on.”

“I think there are a lot of opportunities. They are not bad opportunities. If he goes to Juventus that would be an extraordinary team. Without a doubt, it would be a nice change for him. Hopefully he’ll see more minutes.”

ESPN Soccer analyst Gary Bailey believes that it would be in Van Gaal’s and Chicharito’s best interest to stay with the Red Devils and for the United manager to use his striker in the same way that Herrera did in the World Cup: as a super sub. Bailey believes that if Chicharito embraces that role (as he has not done in the past), than he can be extremely dangerous off the bench as he was for Mexico in their must win World Cup game against Croatia when he scored a goal late in the second half.

It looks like Chicharito will be on his way out before the transfer window closes on August 31st. If he is moved, look for Juventus, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Southampton, and Inter Milan all to bid for the services of the El Tri star.
