Jamaican ophthalmologist and beauty queen Gabrielle Henry, who suffered a terrible accident in Thailand while representing in Miss Universe, returned to her country after almost three weeks in intensive care and was hospitalized upon arrival in Kingston.
According to a report by local journalist Damion Mitchell, Miss Jamaica is "hospitalized in the corporate area of a hospital under the supervision of a neurologist," adding that she was taken off the plane in a wheelchair and then transferred to a stretcher to be taken by ambulance to the medical center.
Henry traveled accompanied by a medical escort and her mother and sister, who were with her in Thailand. Mitchell noted that the trip was financed by the Miss Universe Organization.
She also indicated that the flight made a stopover in the United States and that Dr. Henry still requires 24-hour professional supervision, so there is no information yet on when she will be able to return home.

In a statement released early last week by Miss Universe, it was revealed that on November 19, Miss Jamaica suffered multiple serious injuries, including an intracranial hemorrhage that caused her to lose consciousness, a fracture, facial lacerations, and other trauma, during a preliminary parade of the competition.
According to the organization, she was admitted directly to an intensive care unit in Bangkok, where she remained under continuous neurological observation for several days.
The statement, shared jointly with Henry's family, added that the beauty queen "suffered a serious fall through an opening in the stage while performing her walk."

The accident involving Miss Jamaica is one of the many scandals that erupted during the 2025 Miss Universe pageant. Three judges resigned during the competition due to allegations of rigged results. Additionally, one of the organizers had a public falling out with Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, who ultimately won the title.
As if that weren't enough, the pageant owners have serious legal problems. Mexican Raúl Rocha faces formal charges for fuel and drug trafficking, while Thai Jakkaphong "Anne" Jakrajutatip, the other owner, is currently a fugitive from justice in her country.
