Roselyn Sanchez will be co-hosting the Miss Universe 2015 pageant this year live from Las Vegas. The "Devious Maids" actress will be presenting with Steve Harvey and present for the crowning moment of the new beauty queen. "Happy to announce I will join Steve Harvey for a behind-the-scenes look at #missuniverse2015," Sanchez announced on her Instagram account. Shortly after this announcement was made official, Roselyn received major backlash from social media users and responded to her critics in a separate post. "I have decided to be part of this year's Miss Universe since Mr. Trump has absolutely nothing to do with it," she wrote. "It is a new regime, new network and new concept. I want to make that very clear."

It seems like people have not kept up with the news that Donald Trump sold his stake of the Miss Universe pageant and has nothing to do with the organization any longer. If you remember, both NBC and Univision dropped their association with the organization after the Republican presidential candidate made racist remarks against Mexican immigrants. At the time, Roselyn had just been announced as co-host of the Miss USA competition that would air on UniMás. When its parent company Univision canceled the broadcast, Sanchez came forward with a statement denouncing Trump's remarks. "As a LATINA and proud of my roots, culture and everything we have contributed to this nation, I have decided to cancel my participation as co-host of Miss USA," Sánchez posted on Instagram. "I don't tolerate the disrespectful and hurtful words that came out of Mr. Trump's mouth."

Roselyn continued her statement: "It seems like a like that in his announcement as a presidential candidate he would have that lack of judgement and decency. Mexicans, like all our Latino brothers have contributed positively to this great nation. We are the force that keeps this country afloat. I was very excited and grateful with the opportunity to serve as a co-host of this great event in which many Latinas have shined, but I am more excited for the loyalty to my people. Enough with racism and "influential" people that belittle."
