SEATTLE - The New York Mets might be one of the most in-form teams in Major League Baseball since the start of June, with a 14-2 win over the Texas Rangers being the latest proof of that.

Extending their winning streak to six games, the Mets' double-digit win against the reigning champions was their second time this season scoring 14 or more runs in a single game and the first since April.

The game started with the Mets taking an early 1-0 advantage thanks to a run from Francisco Lindor, but a monster second inning from the New Yorkers put the game away.

Five singles and a home run in the second inning put the Mets 7-0 in front and they never looked back. The man who sparked the offense was the Puerto Rican Lindor, who went 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored.

After scoring two runs in the first two innings, Lindor singled and scored again in the fourth. One inning later, Lindor added an RBI double to complete his third four-hit game of the season.

Despite the slow start, Lindor is now firing in all cylinders. Over his last 24 games, he's gone 33-for-98 (.337) with 15 extra-base hits.

"Hitting is contagious and it seems like we are in one of those stages where everything is coming our way," said Lindor after the game as the Mets won their sixth consecutive game and sit just one game away from a Wild Card spot in the National League.
