The second season of "Mr. Robot" has yet to arrive but it looks like we may have some details regarding the Season 3. Ahead of the coming second season, we know Season 3 will target a fairly imposing figure, and if reports are correct we have an idea who production is looking to cast.

This should be taken with a grain of salt as "Mr. Robot" is only halfway through filming. But according to a recent Zap2It profile with series star Rami Malek the shows creator Sam Esmail is hoping to bring "Man of Steel's" Michael Shannon in on a role for the third season.

"The other day we were talking about Michael Shannon, and Sam said, 'I really want to use him for this role I'm writing for Season 3' …and I'm like, 'You’re already there?" said Malek. "That’s the head space you're in? I need you right here. Episode 3 of Season 2.'"

It is still way too early to confirm anything, but if Esmail has started writing Season 3 of "Mr. Robot" then we may see Shannon appear in the series.

Meanwhile, Season 2 of the hacker drama-thriller is now set to premiere on July 13 and will include a massive cast. New additions include Aasif Mandvi, Craig Robinson, Grace Gummer as Dominique DiPierro, who is a young FBI field agent investigating the Evil Corp Hack and Chris Conroy as Derek, the new man in Joanna's life. Joey Bada$$ will appear as Leon, who is Elliot's new close friend. We will also see "Fear the Walking Dead" alum Sandrina Holt, Michael Maize, Dorothi Fox and Luke Robertson, reports ScreenCrush.

Additionally, Michael Cristofer and Stephanie Corneliussen have joined the cast in full-time roles, with the former as Evil Corp CEO Phillip Price and the latter as Tyrell Wellick's spouse Joanna. Ben Rappaport and Tom Riis Farrell will also return as Ollie and Bill.

"Mr. Robot" Season 2 will return next month. Until then, check out the intense trailer below.
