Dulce Maria Nominated For MTV EMA 2014
Dulce María is one of the 10 acts nominated in the Worldwide Act category at the MTV EMAs 2014! Univision

The MTV EMAs 2014 have made things extra interesting introducing the Worldwide Act category, where 10 acts from around the world will compete for an accolade. Fans nominated their favorite acts and the top act from ten different countries will now compete for that award. Representing Latin America is our very own Dulce María, the former RBD member. The "Va Por Ti" captain will face global acts like One Direction their tour mates 5 Seconds Of Summer and representing the USA, Fifth Harmony among others. "What an honor to be the first Mexican artist to receive this recognition," the singer said in a statement. "I am very grateful with my fans for giving us this happiness. This award and everything else is because of them."

Glasgow is ready to be host of the 2014 MTV European Music Awards, otherwise known as the EMAs! The night is going to sizzle with Latin flavor as Enrique Iglesias has just confirmed he will be performing on stage. Iglesias is the only Latino nominated at the global event in the Best World Stage category. The "Bailando" singer will be competing wither other notable performances from Afrojack, Flo Rida, Simple Plan and Fall Out Boy, which were all produced in México. Other artists competing in the Best World Stage category are Linkin Park, The Killers, Kings Of Leon, Pharrell Williams, Ellie Goulding and Nicole Scherzinger. Other acts confirmed to perform are Calvin Harris, Charli XCX, Royal Blood, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, who will also host. Ozzy Osbourne will receive the Global Icon award for his career in music.

In recent weeks a new category was introduced called Best Song With A Message. Music fans will be able to crown their winner via social media by tweeting out their favorite. The songs that compete in this category are, "We Exist" by Arcade Fire, "We Are Here" by Alicia Keys, "Take Me To Church" by Hozier, "All About The Bass" by Meghan Trainor and "Pretty Hurts" by Beyoncé. Katy Perry, the queen of the Katy Cats, leads the pack with seven nods including Best Song for "Dark Horse" in collaboration with Juicy J, Best Pop, Best Female and Best Look. One battle we are most definitely looking forward to is the one the "This Is How We Do" hitmaker has with Taylor Swift. As you know rumor has it the two are allegedly frenemies and they will be facing off at the EMAs. Both artists are nominated in the Best Look and Best Female category. The MTV EMAs will air on November 9 on MTV.
