The Golden State Warriors need to figure out their plans for the 2020 NBA Draft. Being at that spot is rare for the Dubs and they would be wise not to waste this opportunity. With Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball and James Wiseman singled out as the top three players of the class, head coach Steve Kerr is left to decide on who to pick.

The Warriors will be left only with two names to choose from. The Minnesota Timberwolves will select first and the word going around is that they will use that on Ball. Considering Edwards is touted as the most talented of the class, the Warriors could pick him. But the dilemma is that the Dubs could also use Wiseman since they need a big man on the roster.

Wiseman is a good rim protector and someone who can clean the boards. But the problem with him is skillset, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. He is not a good passer and his shooting is suspect. Some claim that this is not as bad as most think, especially if his performance at Memphis is added.

He averaged an impressive 19.7 points and 10.7 rebounds with Memphis, not bad for a 7-foot-1 player. However, the fact remains that he did this in only three games. It would have been better had he played more games for better assessment. Most know that things are different in the NBA, especially for rookies.

The thing with Wiseman is that the Dubs will need to be patient in developing those lacking skills. Considering the Dubs want to bounce back hard this 2020-21 season, that is something that Kerr and company may have no time for.

Also worth noting is that passing up a talent like Edwards could come back to haunt them. Though they seem loaded with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins on the firing end, Edwards could prove beneficial in different ways.

The Dubs could use Edwards as part of their plans if any of the stars’ performance dwindle. Also, the Warriors could use Edwards as a trade bait to get players they need in tow.

Of course, most know that the Dubs can also opt to trade down. The New York Knicks are interested in Ball or Edwards and getting the no. 2 spot would be ideal. The Warriors could ask for Mitchell Robinson in return, a proven center who is oozing with potential. Together with the 8th overall pick of the Knicks, the Dubs could end up being winners if such a deal transpires.
