Not even a week has passed by since Univision made the decision to cut ties with Donald Trump. Now, NBCUniversal has taken the same step.

The network announced Monday that it's ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump following the recent remarks he made about Mexicans during his presidential kickoff speech, where he referred to illegal immigrants as "rapists" and acussed them for "bringing crime" and "bringing drugs" to the U.S.

A large number of Hispanic advocacy organizations urged NBC to take the same action as Univision, pressuring the network to break-up with the business magnate. NBCUniversal finally took the action after stating that Trump's opinions "do not represent those of NBC."

"At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values. Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump," the company revealed in a statement.

NBC also announced that it would no longer air the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. The Miss USA pageant was orginally scheduled to air July 12 on NBC. Until now, both beauty pageant competitions were jointly owned by NBC and Trump.

In addition to the news, Trump stated that he will no longer appear on the TV show "The Apprentice;" however, NBC confirmed that "Celebrity Apprentice" will proceed airing without him, according to the Associated Press.
