The spinoff of CBS' Tuesday night anchor, and TV's number one rated program, "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles" may be producing its own offshoot series starting soon. The 18th episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles," which will air March 19th, is entitled "Red."
"Red" will send Special Agent Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Field Agent Hanna (LL Cool J) to Idaho to investigate a piece of evidence from a Los Angeles murder that was found in the Gem State. There, they work together with a "mobile" pair of NCIS agents to solve the California crime.
The pair of roving agents will be played by Kim Raver of "Grey's Anatomy" and John Corbett from "Sex and the City." While the new series itself, "NCIS: Red," has not officially been picked up by CBS for an official fall premiere, the upcoming episode is said to serve as a barometer for the plausibility of a fourth series to succeed. NCIS itself was a sequel series to "JAG," which aired in the late 1990s. CBS has previously had success with multiple series of the same nature. The Las Vegas-based "CSI" crime drama produced the highly rated programs "CSI: NY" and "CSI: Miami."
