Netflix 'Iron Fist' Casting News: 'Game Of Thrones' Jessica Henwick Joins Series As Colleen Wing

Looks like another "Game of Thrones" star has been cast in the forthcoming Marvel Netflix series, "Iron Fist." According to Blastr, Jessica Henwick has been cast in the series as protagonist Colleen Wing. Check out a side-by-side image of Henwick and the character she will portray in the tweet below:

A martial arts expert running her own dojo, Colleen will serve as an invaluable ally to Danny Rand as he returns to his life in New York after leaving K’un-L’un; a secretive Martial Arts Temple in Asia.

Both the lead actor, Finn Jones, and Henwick are "Game of Thrones" alums. Fans may recognize Henwick as one of the Sand Snakes, Nymeria Sand, while Jones portrayed Loras Tyrell. She also had a small role in last years hit-movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" as Jess Testor, one of the X-wing pilots of the Resistance.

Marvel Television vice president Jeph Loeb gushed over Henwick being the ideal candidate for the role saying:

"Jessica brings both a youthful vitality mixed with a strong sense of authority crucial to the character… And as anyone who's seen her in 'Game Of Thrones' can attest, she can throw down with the best of them, making her the perfect Colleen Wing."

"Iron Fist" sees Daniel Rand, a.k.a. Iron Fist, return to NYC to fight its criminals, having disappeared for several years prior. Introduced in the Marvel Comics universe in the 1970s, Iron Fist is a superhero with high-level training in martial arts that allows him to channel the power of a force called the Iron Fist.

"Iron Fist" is a part of the four-series order placed by the streaming service in 2013 which include "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones" and the coming "Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist." The four different series will eventually culminate in the miniseries "The Defenders."

According to Moviepilot, "The Defenders" are originally a group of superhero outsiders, and have included various Marvel characters including Doctor Strange, the Hulk, Luke Cage and more.
