While much has been said and written about the personal lives of Donald Trump and the First Lady of the U.S., a new biography penned by Mary Jordan gives incisive details into what Trump’s equation with Melania.

Jordan had gotten in touch with Sean Spicer, the president's first communication director for a broader understanding of the personal lives of the President and his wife. Spicer revealed that Melania never quite pushes her opinion, but always makes her views clear with Trump -- which he most often agrees with. “‘She is right’, and that was the end of the discussion,” said Spicer, opining how Trump often listened to his wife, contrary to the popular beliefs.

The same was testified through the decision made by Trump to offer Indiana Governor Mike Pence the role of vice president in 2016, on the suggestion of Melania. The president was at a crossroads on whom to appoint as the vice president among the options available: Pence, then-New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

It is learned that Melania’s observations made a world of difference, and gave Pence an edge over his competitors. “She played a big role. It was beyond consulting,” said a person with a deep insight into the process to Jordan, as per a media outlet, on the condition of anonymity. “She thought he would be a loyal adviser, not an alpha,” added the insider, hinting at how Melania thought zeroing in on Pence would mean no threat to Trump, as the former Indiana governor would not “gun for the top job.”

It is also believed that Pence's appointment as the vice president had to do with the Trumps believing that he would “stay in his lane, step aside, and let Trump be Trump.” A volley of sources also revealed to Jordan that Melania has been the closest to Trump, as compared to all the women the president has been with.

It is believed that Melania won his trust and proved her loyalty after not dating any men after the couple split in 1999. The decision to not be with anyone else, until they reconciled worked in the First Lady’s favor like nothing else.
