Nobody Saw It Coming! John Cena Ties The Knot With Girlfriend Shay Shariatzadeh

It’s official – John Cena and girlfriend Shay Shariatzadeh were proclaimed man and wife on Monday in Tampa, Florida. The pro-wrestler and actor tied the knot with Shariatzadeh at an attorney’s office on Monday and had procured a marriage license on Friday, as per a recent report on PEOPLE. Family, friends and WWE talent graced the event, to congratulate the couple.

The news, albeit surprising, was something fans expected all along as the two were quite open about their relationship since the get-go. Speculations are rife that the two were secretly engaged earlier this year.

Rumors about Cena and Shariatzadeh’s courtship ran amok way back in 2019. They’re 13 years apart but seem to be besotted with each other, as onlookers and fans have spotted the couple indulging in PDA in numerous occasions.

The duo locked lips during second red carpet appearance together at the premiere of “Dolittle”, earlier this year. Constants talks about the two taking things to a next level grew as Cena referred to his girlfriend as “family” while interacting with reports at the do. They were spotted holding hands in Vancouver, Canada, in March of last year, and kissed each other in the public glare in the following month at the airport.

Their whirlwind romance bloomed after Cena met Shariatzadeh on the sets of “Playing with Fire”. Cena hinted at things brewing in his love life last October after the two hit off pretty well after a passionate movie. “What’s truly special about this one is that, no matter what projects I’m involved in the future, this one will always have a special meaning because I got to film a special project and meet someone special,” said Cena to “Entertainment Tonight”, giving rumor mills enough fodder to probe deep into his love life.

Cena was married to Elizabeth Huberdeau in 2009, but headed for divorce three years later. Not too long before he met Shariatzadeh, Cena was linked to Nikki Bella. The two were engaged but called it off eventually.
