We’re very excited about Oscar Isaac’s role in the highly anticipated “Episode VII: The Force Awakens” but we think no one’s as excited as the actor himself. Did we mention he even got his uncle a part in the movie as an extra? He did. Now, in his latest interview Isaac mentioned he suspects (and deep down really hopes) his character originally comes from the same moon shown in 1977's “Episode IV: A New Hope,” featuring the landscape of the ancient Mayan city in Guatemala, Tikal.

When asked about his character being related in any way to Bail Organa from “Episode II: Attack of the Clones,” played by Latin actor Jimmy Smits, Isaac responded, “What's actually very interesting is that Yavin, at the end of the very first 'Star Wars', that last scene was shot in Guatemala and you know, I think that Poe Dameron is from that planet… and that's a beautiful coincidence.” And while the actor is excited him and his character might both be from the same country, he doesn’t think there’s any relation with Smits’ character, “There's room in the Galaxy for more than one Latin family,” Isaac said chuckling.

The actor recently joined his fellow cast members in an amazing cover shoot for the May issue of Vanity Fair. Of course, Annie Leibovitz worked her magic behind the lens and the photos confirmed rumors and revealed new characters, including Lupita Nyong’o’s.
