Over half of Jewish Americans say they have faced antisemitism in the past year and most now consider it part of their daily lives, according to a new poll.

The survey, released by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and Jewish Federations of North America, detail that 55% of American Jews said they experienced at least one form of antisemitism in the past 12 months.

Moreover, 57% say antisemitism is now a normal Jewish experience, and almost 20% claim to have been either physically assaulted, threatened or verbally harassed because of their Judaism.

As a result, almost half (48%) of respondents said they took action to increase their personal security and sense of safety. One third (33%) are crafting worst-scenario plans and 14% have plans to flee the country if needed.

ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said the fact that "some Jewish Americans think it's so bad that they are making plans to flee the U.S. if it gets worse" is a "five-alarm fire for our entire country."

According to Axios, the FBI Crime Data Explorer database shows that Black Americans were the group most targeted by hate crimes last year, followed by Jewish Americans.

Jews have reported increased antisemitism since the war in Gaza began two years ago, Namely, in pro-Palestine protests, college campuses and elsewhere in the U.S.

Last week billionaire Elon Musk claimed that Jewish advocacy organization Anti Defamation League (ADL) is a "hate group" for including Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA in its glossary of extremist groups.

Musk made the claim in a post in his social media platform, X, when replying to a publication by conservative influencer Mike Cernovich, who drew attention to the matter.

"The larger problem with the ADL designating Turning Point USA as a hate group, is that the FBI allows the ADL to proving this "training" to agents. The ADL is deeply embedded within law enforcement. They must be removed immediately," he said.

The ADL then removed its entire "Glossary of Extremism and Hate" after the backlash. Nonetheless, FBI Director Kash patel ended the bureau's long-standing partnership with the ADL.
