Despite Kanye West's public condemnation of Pete Davidson's marriage to Kim Kardashian, the comedian appears unconcerned. Some may consider Davidson's unwillingness to engage in direct conflict as cowardly, but that is not the case.
"Pete is staying far away from Kanye," the source told Us Magazine.
According to the insider, Davidson, 28, has been "going the mature route" in response, and this isn't because he's a coward.
"He's not afraid of him - he just doesn't want to get involved in the divorce drama," the source explained.
Saturday Night Live actor Chris Parnell referenced to West's feisty attitude during his September 2018 performance on the NBC comedy show.
Davidson reacted angrily to Yeezy's public political pronouncements following his support for then-President Trump, telling him to return to his medicines.
"Kanye is a genius, but a musical genius. Like Joey Chestnut is a hot dog-eating genius, but I don't want to hear Joey Chestnut's opinions about things that aren't hot dog-related," the Meet Cute actor said.
"Kanye, I know you're like, 'This is the real me, I'm off the meds.' Take 'em. There's no shame in the medicine game. I'm on them. It's great."
Kim Kardashian, 41, filed for divorce from Kanye West in February 2021, over seven years after their wedding, citing irreconcilable differences. Her romance with Davidson is said to have begun when they appeared together on Saturday Night Live in October of that year.
Many people were astonished when West said publicly that he planned to reconcile with the reality star in the coming weeks. He even claimed that "SNL" was the one who forced his wife to say certain things.
"SNL making my wife say 'I divorced him' on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off, and I never have seen the papers. We're not even divorced," he said during an appearance on Revolt's "Drink Champs" podcast in November 2021.
"So how we - because [it's] no joke to me, my kids want their parents to stay together. I want their parents - I want us to be together."
However, Kanye was soon seen dating Julia Fox, while Kim and Pete's relationship remained.
While everyone assumed they'd moved on, Kanye West's subsequent acts revealed that he's still longing for Kim while also dissing Pete.
Meanwhile, the latter and her entire family are doing everything they can to keep him out of their life. It's become so tangled that one may believe Pete Davidson is doing the right thing by staying away.
