Two Philadelphia Schools were locked down after a female with a shotgun inside one of the buildings was reported. Around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, a number of students were walking to their classes at the Feltonville School of Arts & Sciences in Northeast Philly when the woman reportedly pointed the gun at them.

The students notified their principal immediately upon their arrival at the school just south of the Boulevard. Feltonville and the nearby Clara Barton School were instantly locked down. Philadelphia Police officers and the SWAT team have been called in to investigate the cause of the Philadelphia school lockdown. Local Philadelphia television affiliates KYW and WCAU reported that the suspect barricaded themself inside a home in the 4600 block of N. Ella Street, near Wyoming Avenue, with about 20 Philadelphia police officers arriving on scene around 10 a.m.

WTXF's Dave Schratwieser reported that a third Philadelphia school is now on lockdown following the incident. The FOX affiliate is now reporting that the "lockdown and barricade situation ended around 11:20 a.m." Eastern. An altercation between the woman and the students is now being blamed for the incident, according to the station.
