Pokemon Trainers beware of a dangerous new bug type in "Pokemon X and Y," and no we are not talking about an actual bug-type Pokemon. According to multiple reports there is a game breaking bug that has been found in "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y's" Lumiose City. The bug which is apparently rendering player's files irreversibly corrupt seems to occur after gamers have saved in the region. Players are reporting on forums that their 3DS become unresponsive after trying to load the save file. As of now there is no solution other than deleting all your progress and starting over again.

The error causes "Pokemon X and Y" to hard-lock. Venture Beat poses another way to access the game besides restarting which is holding down the power button. A few gamers reported the issue in a thread on gaming message board Gamefaqs. The glitch affects both digital and physical copies of both X and Y. Nintendo has not addressed the issue as of now but until they do it is probably best to avoid saving any game data in Lumiose City. The bug is being reported across both the European and Japanese version of "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y."

With "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" selling as good as it has been Nintendo will definitely be working on a patch release as soon as possible.

"Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" released worldwide for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS Saturday October 12. Be sure to check out the videos below which show the "Pokemon X and Y" game bug.
