Police are looking into the death of a man whose body was found in a field next to the M4 motorway in the early hours of the morning Friday. Officers discovered the body next to the road at Langley in Berkshire and are yet to identify the remains. Thames Valley Police said they have launched an investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the man’s unexplained death, as they look for clues and evidence that could lead them to possible leads on a suspect.
According to The Sun, authorities are treating the case as “unexplained” as the body is yet to be formally identified and nobody has since reported any missing persons either. Cops said they are still figuring out the exact cause of his death and how he died and whether there are other people involved.
The man’s body remains in the custody of pathologists from the mortuary at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough. Post-mortem reports are still being done as police and forensics continue to dig deeper around the crime scene over the weekend.
“We were called to a report that a body of a man had been found on land near to the M4 at around 4:20 am on Friday morning. At this time, he has not been formally identified,” a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police declared.
Police said results from the forensics team may take several days till the examiner can come up with a clearer picture of what had taken place in the last minutes of the man’s life.
As it is, road closures along the lanes of M4 are in place, as police continue to investigate the crime scene. Another lane also had to be fully closed from junction 4b westbound and the road exit at the M25 to the M4. Drivers have been advised to take alternative routes and avoid the area.
'We would like to thank people for their patience and understanding whilst we carry out this important investigation," police said. Further road closures were put in place around the Motorway in Slough as officers continue to probe the mysterious death.
