A royal biographer claims that when Princess Diana was pregnant with Prince Harry, she chose to keep his gender to herself and didn’t let Prince Charles know about it.

Andrew Morton made these shocking revelations in his autobiography, Diana: Her True Story – In Her Own Words.

Diana and Prince Charles had their first child, Prince William on June 21, 1982, even before they could complete a year of marriage. And, two years later when Princess Diana was pregnant again, the couple were genuinely delighted. But, she chose to keep the sex of the baby to herself.

Morton says Diana told him that Prince Charles always wanted a girl. And, because she knew Harry was going to be a boy, she kept the critical detail to herself.

“I knew Harry was a boy, and I didn’t tell him.”

The royal biographer also claims that when Harry was born on September 15, 1984, the Prince of Wales showed less enthusiasm. But of course, Diana was ecstatic about Harry’s arrival.

Also, Morton says that Prince Charles’ first comment after seeing Harry was “Oh God, it’s a boy… and he’s even got red hair.”

He even adds that Prince Charles’ less than enthusiastic nature continued until Harry’s christening, where he told Diana’s mother, Frances Kydd, “We were so disappointed, we thought it would be a girl.”

But Diana’s mother was having none of it. Diana said, “Mummy snapped his head off.” It seems she told him to count his blessing that the child was normal. Apparently, that’s when the sulking ended.

Princess Diana and Prince Charles separated in 1996. And, this came after Princess Diana’s explosive TV interview where she told the world about Charles’ infidelity. Unfortunately, Diana’s life came to a tragic end in 1997 when she was killed in a car crash with her boyfriend Dodi Fayed and the driver.
