Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are in the spotlight again but for an unfortunate reason. The couple was heavily criticized on social media after they left a birthday wish for their nephew Prince George for his sixth birthday early this week.

A day before their son’s actual birthday, Kate Middleton and Prince William shared three photos of Prince George on their official Kensington Palace Instagram account. The parents also left a message for their son’s special day, and in one of the photographs, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also posted their birthday greeting for the little prince.

“Happy Birthday!” Prince Harry and Meghan wrote under their official Sussex Royal Instagram handle. “Wishing you a very special day and lots of love!” It was a warm greeting, but some fans were furious and bashed Meghan and Harry. Fans unleashed their fury by replying to the same post. As of this time, it already gathered over a thousand comments.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex paid tribute in celebration of Prince George’s sixth birthday, but people were annoyed. Why? According to The Sun, the pair is accused of not showing respect to their nephew.

“Why so disrespectful?” one of the commenters wrote as a reply to Meghan and Harry’s message. “Please include ‘HRH Prince George’ next time as a sign of RESPECT to the future King,” another one stated.

But while there are so many hateful replies, there are people who defended the pair and advised them not to mind the bashers because the royal couple actually wrote a sweet message for the prince. Someone said that it’s funny how people think that it was Meghan who personally wrote the greeting.

“Do you think when there [sic] together they talk to each other using their titles? They are his uncle and aunt and even if he becomes a king that doesn't mean he's more important than them!” he asked everyone.

“If you think that family members have to treat each other with superiority, there is something wrong with your life,” another defender said. “George has done [sic] his birthday and his uncle and aunty made him a wish message, nothing more, nothing less but miserable haters without their own family have to complain, this is sad.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have already suffered from the deluge of criticisms in the last few months. It started when they splurged $3 million on home renovation for their Frogmore Cottage using taxpayers’ money and then deciding to make their son’s christening a private event.
