The Queen often invites members of her family to visit her when she takes trips during the summer holidays. Last month, she was in Scotland and invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for a visit, but they snubbed the invite.

Sources close to the royal family have confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not want to travel to Balmoral in Scotland at the invitation of the Queen, Express reported. The royal couple did this because their son Archie was too young for such a travel.

The reason for the couple skipping an invitation from the Queen is being seen as a bit odd. Prince Harry and Markle travelled to Ibiza for a vacation, and they even visited Elton John in France after he invited them, and the age of their son didn’t stop them from these trips.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex skipped a visit with the Queen last year too. The reason given at that time was that Markle was pregnant, and it wouldn’t be convenient for her to travel in that condition.

One concern that Prince Harry and Markle have been raising about their travel arrangements is privacy and security. They took a private jet when visiting the singer John in France for supposedly these reasons.

Royal sources pointed out that there can be nothing more private and secure than a visit with the Queen in Scotland. The reason Markle may have declined to go, according to insiders, is because the trip to Balmoral will be all about shooting, hunting, and fishing.

While Prince Harry has been to Balmoral many times, but he has never taken his wife there yet. The Queen is said to be “disappointed” that the two of them have declined her invitation.

Prince Harry and Markle have been using the platform they have to promote social causes, but they are low-key about their royal status. There have been rumors that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are considering taking a home in Los Angeles and leaving behind their regal life, Daily Mail reported.
