Prince William and Kate Middleton were married in a fairytale-like wedding in 2011. The royal couple dated for 10 years before getting married, nine years of it before Prince William popped the question to the duchess.

Prince Willian and Kate are relationship goals. The two met in college, dated for a couple of years before finally settling down. The Duchess of Cambridge did not mind waiting for her prince as insiders disclosed that the two made a pact that someday they will get married after they broke up in 2007.

The question, however, is why Prince William made Kate wait too long. Princess Diana’s astrologer, Debbie Frank, shared some insights into Prince William’s decision to keep Kate at bay.

Frank said that Prince William is sensitive and was looking for someone strong and stable on whom he can rely. The Duchess of Cambridge, on the other hand, is careful and takes things slowly and steadily. It seems that it took Prince William an amount of time before he realized that Kate was really the rock he was looking for.

The duke’s sensitivity had somehow rooted from the divorce of his parents, Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana. Prince William wanted to be 100% committed and sees family as a priority.

In fact, Prince William has given the same advice to his younger brother, Prince Harry, after the Duke of Sussex announced his engagement to Meghan Markle a year after they dated. Prince Harry and Meghan married in 2018, a few months after they got engaged.

Another factor was William and Kate’s age when they fell in love. The royal couple started a private relationship back in 2001, when they were young and were barely sophomores at St. Andrews. Sources say that Prince William and Kate needed time to emotionally grow and mature before they can finally determine that they are both ready for marriage.

After 10 years of relationship, it was proven that the couple was meant for each other. Prince William proposed to Kate with Princess Diana’s Ceylon ring in 2010.
