After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave candid interviews, expressing the problems they have been facing because of intense British media scrutiny, people have been waiting to see how Queen Elizabeth II and the others in the family will react. The monarch doesn’t have the habit of giving statements on such things, but she has let her displeasure be known by making a subtle move.

The Queen met with many dignitaries recently at the Buckingham Palace. There is a special Audience room where she meets with the guests, and the room has a table where the framed portraits of all the family members are kept.

After Prince Harry and Markle’s interview, the Queen has removed their framed photos from its prominent position at the table, Express reported. The picture was that of the Duke of Sussex in a blue suit embracing his wife, and it has been there on the table in the palace since the wedding last year.

The table on which the Queen keeps the portraits is significant because it forms the backdrop of all her important pictures with visiting guests at the palace. The table is placed right next to the fireplace and is decorated with a rich tablecloth on which the framed portraits and the lamp are neatly arranged. The monarch appears to have removed the framed picture of Prince Harry knowing that it will get noticed when pictures of her meeting guests are released to the public.

While the Queen is not happy with the path Prince Harry and his wife have taken, Markle too appears to be standing her ground on the issue of facing relentless attacks by the British media. The Duchess of Sussex wore a purple dress for her first engagement after the interview, and the use of the royal color is being seen as her way of showing defiance to the monarch, Express reported.
