Rafael Puente To Be Presented As Chivas Director Of Operations After Firing Of Ricardo La Volpe

During this past week, Ricardo La Volpe was fired from Chivas. They are trying to restructure the team. On Monday, the team will introduce sports commentator Rafael Puente del Rio who this weekend will still be working behind the microphone.

Rafael Puente Jr. will take the position as Director of Operations and will work closely with Juan Francisco Palencia who is the Sports’ Director. Puente’s duties will include to collaborate with Palencia in finding the incorporation of reinforcement for the institution.

Puente Del Rio played professional football. He had his debut in the First Division with Atlante and then with Necaxa. However, injuries and other setbacks lead him to have a brief career as a telenovela actor.

Leaving behind that time in his life, he decided to become a commentator and spend his time behind the microphone and now he will be in a leadership position for the first time in his career. Juan Manuel Herrero, Chivas Sports’ President, said that Puente Del Rio’s duties will be to work in projects parallel to the First Division, projects that seem to be stuck, along with duties mentioned before.
