World Boxing Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is in the best position to reveal how ready Manny Pacquiao is against Errol Spence Jr. But in all, the 61-year-old believes that for the Pac-Man to win, he needs to have a perfect fight.

Roach likes their chances heading into the Aug. 21 fight. But aware of that car accident that “The Truth” suffered in October 2019, Roach feels that the undefeated boxer is still not entirely over it. He feels that Spence may not be 100% over that single-vehicle accident and says the 31-year-old is lucky to be alive when he spoke to Fight Hub TV.

“I know Errol Spence is a very good fighter, good boxer, but I still don’t think — I’m very leery of that car accident. He’s lucky to be alive, I’m happy he’s alive, but it was a real bad car accident and I still don’t think that’s over...Mentally, how could you (be 100% after the accident),” Roach stated.

Spence is coming off a unanimous decision win over Danny Garcia. Roach feels he did in that fight but added that facing Pacquiao is a big jump.

“That’s a big jump from Manny Pacquiao, believe me. But he looked okay in that fight, but it wasn’t great, but it was okay,” Roach said.

Roach is clueless about what the camp of Spence will try to pull off on Aug. 21. But as far as Pacquiao is concerned, the renowned trainer wants the 42-year-old to start a fast pace and move a lot. He also added that the Filipino boxing icon needs to be in the pocket to get a two or three-punch combo and then get out.

“If he stays in the pocket he’ll get hit back and that won’t be good because getting hit from a big puncher like him is going to be dangerous. So we have to fight the perfect fight to win, we know that, but we’re getting ready. We’re getting there,” Roach explained.

Spence is a favorite to prevail over Pacquiao although anything can happen. As far as how the fight will end, some people believe this will end in a decision.

One of them is Brave CF middleweight champion Mohammad Fakhreddine who is also a boxer. He gave his take when he appeared on the Sports Bytes PH podcast last July 20 hosted by Brian Yalung and Rica Aquino.

“It’s going to be a tough fight, but I’m going with Pacquiao all the way,” Fakhreddine stated. “I think it's going to be a decision."
