Robert Pattinson is the new superhero whom everyone’s waiting for. Pattinson has been roped in for the latest reboot of the superhero franchise “Batman.”

This will be the first time the “Twilight” star will be donning the look of the Dark Knight, and fans are thrilled to see how it pans out to be. And since the official announcement came, there have already been several rumors about Pattinson’s character as Batman.

Pattinson Wasn’t Happy About His Low Talent Fee

In July, it was reported that the actor wasn’t too happy with his remuneration for the “Batman” reboot. Star magazine claimed that Pattinson was mighty upset because unlike other actors who have played superheroes before, like “Captain America” actor Chris Evans, he wasn’t making as much money.

Gossip Cop debunked the story by putting forth a valid point. The website pointed out that considering Evans has appeared in multiple Marvel movies and this is Pattinson’s first time as a superhero, the comparison didn’t make any sense.

His Salary Was Negotiated Even Before Signing The Deal

The Hollywood Reporter allegedly said that Pattinson’s salary for “Batman” was prenegotiated, that is, it has been negotiated even before he signed the dotted line. The tabloid claimed that “salaries, bonuses and even sequels” were predecided at the time of the audition process.

This was, however, debunked by Gossip Cop as well. According to the publication, if this was the case, the actor would have gone ahead and signed another project.

He And Margot Robbie Were Getting Flirty Over Their Roles

There was another rumor doing the rounds, which claimed that Pattinson and Margot Robbie were “getting flirty” while bonding over their roles. Robbie will be seen reprising her role as Harley Quinn in “Birds Of Prey,” another DC film, in 2020.

Gossip Cop, however, revealed that Robbie is happily married to producer Tom Ackerley, while Pattinson has been dating Suki Waterhouse for over a year now, thus debunking the rumor. There’s also no confirmation about them working together, hereby confirming that “Batman” is going to be a stand-alone project that isn’t connected to the other films produced by DC.

Armie Hammer Wasn’t Delighted At Pattinson Getting The Role

In June, In Touch magazine carried a report that claimed that Armie Hammer was bad-mouthing Pattinson for getting the Batman role over him. While there were strong rumors of Hammer being offered the film, there’s no confirmation that he was actually in talks for it.

Despite no confirmation, the tabloid went on to report that Hammer was “bitter” and “resentful” over Pattinson bagging the role. However, Hammer denied all such reports during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” in March.

The News Broke Even Before He Auditioned For The Role

Much before Pattinson even auditioned or even got to know that he was going to be asked to audition for “Batman,” the news had somehow leaked and spread like wildfire. So when it reached him, he was furious because the leak might have “blown up the whole thing.”

“Batman” had actually been on Pattinson’s mind for a very long time. In fact, the actor had been prodding producer Matt Reeves to cast him for the role.

“I’d had Batman in my mind for a while,” said Pattinson. “It’s such an absurd thing to say. I sort of had an idea to do it, and I’d been prodding Matt [Reeves]. He didn’t accept any prods. I kept asking to meet him.”
