Major League Baseball has sent a loud and clear message that it will uphold its anti-doping policy with the suspension of Ryan Braun for the remainder of the current season and the post-season. The slugger will sit out with no pay for violating the Basic Agreement and its Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

"As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect," Braun said in a statement released by MLB. "I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions. This situation has taken a toll on me and my entire family, and it is has been a distraction to my teammates and the Brewers organization."

Finally, I wish to apologize to anyone I may have disappointed – all of the baseball fans especially those in Milwaukee, the great Brewers organization, and my teammates. I am glad to have this matter behind me once and for all, and I cannot wait to get back to the game I love."

With the suspension of Braun, things are not looking so bright for Alex Rodriguez who was also linked with the Biogenesis Clinic that was the source of performance enhancing drugs. A-Rod has not been able to play this season due to an injury that has left him on the disabled list. It was recently reported that the Yankee slugger has a Grade 1 quad strain.

But even if he was able to play and suspended, he could appeal and keep himself eligible to play.

Do you think Alex Rodriguez will also be suspended?
