Finally, the “Sailor Moon” reboot, “Sailor Moon Crystal,” gets an official release date along with exciting news including voice actors and new artwork.
The official Sailor Moon website is up and running again and with it is a plethora of new information. From the site we’ve learned that the reboot “Sailor Moon Crystal” will premiere at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 5th, 2014 on NicoNico Douga.
But that’s not all! The website has also given us the voice actors who will portray our heroes on the new series. Hisako Kanemoto will be Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury, Rina Sato will portray Rei Hino/Sailor Mars, Ami Koshimizu as Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter, and Shizuka Ito as Minako Aino/Sailor Venus. And lastly, the rumors reign true as Kotono Mitsuishi returns as Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon.
No word yet on who will voice Chiba/Tuxedo Mask but rumor has it Tohru Furuya will return to reprise the role.
Meanwhile official artwork has been revealed on the website as well. The new images show the all the girls not only in civilian gear but also dressed as the Sailor Senshi. As rumored the new costumes look very much like the ones from the “Sailor Moon” manga. Check them out here!
