The search is on in Kansas as a newborn girl is missing and her mother was shot dead. The FBI is working tirelessly to find answers and bring the newborn girl home. Kansas natives are stunned by the incident.

According to FOX News, the FBI joined the search on Friday as the desperately want to reunite a newborn girl back with her family. Authorities made the case top priority after the father found the baby's mother shot to death in their Kansas home.

The site reports that the father came home in Wichita on thursday and found his missing newborn girl, Sofia Victoria Gonzalez Abarca had gone missing and the 27-year-old mother dead. Police Lt. Todd Ojile shared during a news conference that authorities are worried about the safety of the child.

The only development authorities have is that they are looking for a 1997 purple Cadillac Deville with the Kansas plate 716GET.

In a Facebook post, the Wichita Police Department sent out an advisory for the public to be aware.

"Sofia Victoria Gonzalez Abarca is 6 days old and is missing from a scene of a death call WPD is investigating in the 200 block of N Brunswick the post reads. "She was last seen around 12pm today.Please if you have any information, call 911."

FOX 4 reports that the case unfortunately doesn't meet the criteria for an AMBER Alert. In responses to people on Facebook, Wichita police say that the girl's father is at the homicide scene, and the driver of the Cadillac is a person of interest, even though the person hasn't been named or described.

Investigators has said that they will like to speak to aone with ties to the victim. Sgt. Nikki Woodrow says that investigators do not consider the father a suspect.
