World No. 1 Tiger Woods put together another dominant run at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio this past week.

Blitzing past the field en route to a seven-stroke victory - his fifth PGA Tour win in 2013 - the 37-year-old is playing some of the finest golf of his career, an impressive statement considering the former three-time U.S. Amateur Champion has won a total of 79 events since turning pro in 1996.

With the 2013 PGA Championship beginning on Thursday, August 8 from Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York, golf fans are wondering if Woods will finally break his five-year Major Championship winless streak as he looks to claim Major Title No. 15.

Though he's beginning his preparation for the upcoming major tournament, Woods was obviously happy with his strong performance at the WGC event, a tournament he's dominated throughout his career.

"The total body of work is pretty good," Woods said to ESPN regarding his most recent win. "One of the things I'm proud of, obviously, is how many times I've won, plus won World Golf Championships and how many years I've won five or more tournaments in a season. What is it, like eight or nine times? Ten? That's not bad, either."

Woods fired a second round 61 to give himself a large cushion heading into the weekend and thanks to a comfortable final round 70, TW was able to walk away with another tremendous victory, his 12th career win where he's defeated his closest opponent by 6 or more strokes.

Tiger's last major championship victory came at the 2008 United States Open when he defeated Rocco Mediate in an 18-hole Monday playoff to pull within 4 majors of Jack Nicklaus' all-time record. Knowing a win will give him 80 for his career while bringing him closer to the Golden Bear's record, Woods notes that he wants to win every major he's in and his passion for winning never changes.

"Do I want it any more? No, it's the same," Woods said following the Bridgestone Invitational. "Each and every major, I always want them. I've been successful 14 times, and hopefully next week it'll be 15."

Winless in the last 17 major championship events, Woods will begin his quest for Major Title No. 15 on Thursday, August 8 at 8:45am, ET. Playing alongside 2011 PGA Championship winner Keegan Bradley and 1997 Championship title holder Davis Love III, Woods will start the tournament on hole No. 10.
