Tim Tebow Wedding: What They Wore, The Cake, And Everything You Want To Know

The former NFL quarterback, Tim Tebow and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, the Miss Universe 2017 have finally tied the knot in an intimate sunset ceremony at La Paris Estate in Cape Town, South Africa, Demi’s home country. It was beautiful 30-minute wherein the couple exchanged that they had written for each other.

And just so that “Tim can stick to his diet”, the couple had requested for Keto-friendly cheesecakes in the dessert. As for the cake, it left up to the wedding planner to decide. It was an extravagant ceremony, which followed a weekend of glamorous pre-wedding celebrations.

1. What were the bride and groom wearing?

A spokesmodel for David's Bridal, Demi-Leigh wore a custom gown by the wedding dress brand along with Marion Rehwinkel Jewelry. On the other hand, Tim was looking handsome in an Antar Levar suit.

2. Tim, a devout Christian, was zealously adhering to a few traditions like to stay celibate until marriage

Tim, 32, owing to his Christian beliefs had vowed to stay abstinent until marriage based on Hebrews 13:4. “It's just a choice that we made that we both wanted to do that together, and just try to make it as special as possible,” he explained.

He mentioned the same in his vows, which had the usual traditional details mentioned.

“I want the vows to be perfect. I'm leaving in the traditional things like, 'till death do us part,' but I'm also adding some of my own things to it,” he explained.

3. As the moment of “I do” came nearer, there were three things he was looking forward to

“I've been looking forward to three things. The first moment I see her in her wedding dress, the first kiss, and the first dance together as man and wife. It's such a special night,” he said,

He continued, “I've been waiting my entire life for someone special, who I can spend the rest of my life with. I was waiting for the right person to come along. And now I'm marrying Demi. I can't wait to see what our future holds. All of my dreams have come true. It was 100 percent worth the wait.”

4. They met in 2018

The couple met in 2018 at Tim's annual Night to Shine event, a “worldwide prom for people with special needs.” And Demi-Leigh's younger sister Franje, who was born with special needs, attended the event with her sister. Here Demi-Leigh met Tim and they began emailing back and forth.

“So her sister has special needs, and we've had a Night to Shine in South Africa for the last few years and so she got invited to that and through that, we connected, and then we emailed back and forth. And then texts and then calls and then all of a sudden we didn't stop speaking…” Tim had shared in one of his earlier interviews.
