Tom Brady is known for being a highly competitive athlete, but against the 49ers he showed that he’s a good sport as well. Brady threw two interceptions against the 49ers, including one by Dre Greenlaw who asked him to autograph the ball postgame.
"I'm happy he's got the ball," Brady said. "I wish I didn't throw it, but I'm trying to be a good sport. Because a lot of times I'm not a good sport. I can be a pretty bad sport. In the moment when they get me in the right frame of mind, I'm actually a good sport."
The interception occurred in the third quarter on a pass intended for Buccaneers’ wide receiver Mike Evans. It was just Greenlaw’s third career interception.
It’s not the first time Brady has signed a ball after he threw an interception. Last season, he signed a ball for New York Jet Brandin Echols.
