The third episode of True Blood packed quite a punch. There were some stunning moments for sure, but also the real sense that there is a war brewing that has many complicated sides, and nothing is particularly set in stone.

First of all we know Billith is not a god after all, the mega-vamp tried to test out his new found powers to withstand the sun and got burned, big time.

The first real interesting tid bit of information was finding out the Governors daughter, Willa, has no interest in her dads war. In fact she seemed more interested in getting Eric all the information he needs to take down her dad. Not only that you can tell that Willa has a crush on Eric and wants more than just help him.

Anna Camp, Sarah Newlin, returned this week to reveal as to what she has been up to, and that she is now helping to destroy Steve and everything that he now stands for as a part of the Vampire League.

Unfortunately the werewolves continue to be the weakest part of the show, mostly because their stories seem to be almost all about watching Emma be tossed around between Sam and Alcide and also Joe Manganiello taking off his shirt. Sam now has Emma yet again, and he is also trying his best to save Nicole, the "activist" who has shown kindness to him.

As for the Stackhouse family Sookie is struggling to handle what is happening with Niall and the hunt for Warlow, especially with having Ben re-enter the picture. One of the other issues here came via the arrival of Bill Compton back at her house, in a desperate attempt to get her blood to save her race. Even though she said no, it is looking more and more like Sookie is still in trouble no matter how hard that she tries.

It appears Jason is in more pain that he lead on before and collapses to the floor on the last few minutes of the episode. And it appears this season may be lack of fairies seeing how Warlow or some other vampire broke into the fairy club and killed all fairies.

This made for a heck of an entertaining hour of television, but we cannot say that it was particularly fantastic. It was successful in doing what it set out to do, which was to further the story of the humans vs. vampires war but that is about it.
