Eric Northman lives! While the season six finale left many fans wondering if the hunky Viking vamp survived his encounter with the sun, new details from Alexander Skarsgård himself has confirmed he will indeed return. And better yet, we've got some information about Eric's survival, love life and more!

The 37-year-old actor recently spoke to TV Guide about the fate of his character and what fans can expect when “True Blood” premieres on June 22.

“He’s surrounded by a lot of wet snow,” Skarsgård teased TV Guide. “That might give you a hint [about Eric’s fate]. The environment of northern Sweden helps him quite a bit.”

He goes on to talk about where his character will end up in the final 10 episodes of the series. And according to Skarsgård, those fans looking forward to some Sookie and Eric love will be gravely disappointed. “He realizes he’s not the best guy for her,” Skarsgard explained of the pair rekindling their romance.

However, in a weird turn of events Eric will be getting hot and heavy with at least one of the Stackhouse siblings. “True Blood” viewers can look forward to an “erotic sex scene” between Jason and Eric.

“It was written like an Argentinean telenovela, totally over the top,” he dished of the scene with Jason’s Ryan Kwanten. “It was tough because Ryan is incredibly funny. I couldn’t stop laughing.”

But that isn't all for Eric. The viking vamp will indeed be getting a new love interest in the form of a woman named Sylvie. HBO put out a casting call looking for a "drop-dead gorgeous" woman in her 20s who can speak fluent French and is comfortable with full frontal nudity. As of now it is unknown if Sylvie is vamp, supernatural or human but luckily we won't have to wait much longer to find out.

"True Blood" Season seven premieres Sunday, June 22 on HBO while the DVD set for Season six will arrive today, June 3.
