A man and his Fiat 500 gets trapped in a failed attempt to make a U-turn. YouTube

In many ways, the Fiat 500 is the ultimate city car -- stylish, chic, economical, tiny, and armed with a small turning radius, the zippy Italian hatchback dares you to find a city street it can't tackle. However, it probably isn't a good idea to put the Fiat up to that challenge. Case in point, a driver in Naples, Italy, managed to trap himself in a narrow street after he commits an impossible u-turn and wedges himself sideways in the process.

To make matters worse, the narrow street was rather busy at the time of the incident. Not only did the driver receive honking horns and a barrage of rather exuberant Italian, the fiasco blocked a funeral procession as well. Like many moments that turn from bad to worse, a bystander with a camera phone managed to get the whole thing on video.

Due to the impeccable timing of a number of things that came together at once, many people that watched the video claimed the incident had to be choreographed. While fake videos are created to go viral all the time, is such an elaborate staging actually worth the effort?

The internet is rich with an enormous quantity of amateur footage capturing car fails and the latest video in Italy is just a drop in the ocean. In fact, there are thousands of video clips on embarrassing parking jobs alone. Given that the Fiat 500 managed to free itself unscathed and no bystander was injured, this video is no more than a really good laugh.

So far, "Napoli, il video dell'automobilista incastrato a Cardito spopola sul web" has garnered more than 900,000 views since it was uploaded on February 5.

Here of some of the things the commenters had to say:

So, is the man inside the Fiat 500 a hopeless driver who could use a refresher course on k-turns and u-turns or is he a brilliant troll that designed the scene from the very beginning? See for yourself in the full 9-minute video of the wedged Fiat 500 below:
