Music festivals are supposed to be all about fun and enjoying the music, but this year at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, it was a completely different story. According to Miami Fire Rescue, a female security guard was trampled. She is at the hospital with a broken leg and head trauma.
There have been 22 arrests so far. Of those 22 arrests, 15 were felonies and the other were misdemeanors. The nature of the arrests was not specified.
Last year, the festival occurred over two weekends and the arrest total was 167, 81 the first and 86 on the second. This year they decided to run the festival for just one weekend. Last year, arrests ranged from narcotics to disorderly conduct. Ultra Music Festival attracts thousands and thousands of visitors from all over. It takes place in downtown Miami. 50,000-60,000 attend the festival each day. This festival is considered the world’s premiere electronic music festival and it is in its 16th year.
